LifeSignals Biosensor and Technology is creating a new healthcare paradigm that promises healthcare monitoring access to everyone, irrespective of economic status or proximity to hospitals. Leveraging the Silicon LSP platform, they have worked for years to develop a range of clinical-grade wearable biosensors and a software platform, designed to serve multiple use cases.
LifeSignal’s BioWeb are end to end Platform Systems designed to assist partners transform Holter monitoring, in hospital and remote patient monitoring services, based on their requirements, to fast track solution development. They envisioned creating an ecosystem of companies that can utilise Lifesignal's cutting edge technology to build innovative healthcare systems and monitoring solutions.
We helped take this vision forward.
Custom designing the Biosensor and architecting several key components of the Bioweb Platform system.
The disposable, wireless, multi-parameter wearable biosensor is capable of capturing SpO2, 2-channel ECG, and other vital biodata over a span of seven days. From week-long Holter tests to post-operative multi-parameter surveillance and even monitoring vital signs of isolated Covid patients, this device ensures effective data acquisition with minimal discomfort for patients.
However, its prolonged proximity to the body and the necessity for consistent skin contact posed significant design challenges.
A salient feature of our solution was a lightweight, unique form for the biosensor that is adaptable to different body contours and suitable for all skin types. It was designed to be discreet and unobtrusive while having a playful look and feel to alleviate patient anxiety during interactions.
With the use case of self application in mind, skin compatible adhesives and biosensor materials were carefully chosen to maximise ease and comfort during application, use and removal.
